Filip Cușmir

Filip Cușmir is a first-year student at the Paris Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse, studying under Sarah Nemțanu. In 2025, he graduated from the Sigismund Toduță Music College in Cluj-Napoca and completed the pre-university preparatory course at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. Over the years, he has enjoyed the guidance of professors Diana Blaga, Nicușor Silaghi and Anna Gutowska, participating in numerous masterclasses with artists such as Liviu Prunaru, Remus Azoiței, Mihaela Martin, Boris Garlitsky and others. In the field of chamber music, he took an important step: he was a SoNoRo Interferențe scholarship holder in two consecutive editions, and in 2024 he participated with Trio Brielle in the Arcadia Chamber Music Classes, 4th edition, a project supported by the Arcadia Quartet. There, together with the ensemble, he obtained the scholarship offered for the fifth edition, where they returned to give a concert.
Filip has performed several times as a soloist with the Transylvania State Philharmonic Orchestra and the Oradea State Philharmonic Orchestra in projects dedicated to young musicians. In 2024, he performed Jean Sibelius' Violin Concerto in D minor, Op. 47, alongside the Pitești Philharmonic Orchestra, as part of the season, as a laureate of the Youth Festival Gala.
A defining experience in his career took place in 2023, when he was part of the Concertgebouworkest YOUNG orchestral project, performing under the baton of Andrés Orozco-Estrada in the renowned Concertgebouw Amsterdam and Konzerthaus Berlin halls.
