NUMAÀ House

24 Piața Unirii, Cluj-Napoca, Cluj County

For more than 140 years, starting in 1884, this building was built by businessmen to have a secluded, but in the heart of the city, a meeting place for the city's industrial leaders and elite, where grand businesses were born. Since 1884, the Association of Traders, Industrialists and Craftsmen of Cluj has been functioning here. The palace was built by a joint effort, each member of the association contributing to its construction. Thus, the railroad manufacturer manufactured the entire structure, the owner of the quarry at Viștea made the floors and stairs, the masons and craftsmen contributed with their physical labour, and the teachers, practitioners and doctors contributed with money.

In 1945, the building was nationalized and housed the “Forum” Cinema, which in 1948 was renamed “Timpuri noi”; in 1990 the space became the Municipal House of Culture in Cluj, and in 2012 the building was returned to the owner, NOUA - Association of Employers and Craftsmen Cluj; in 2023, the space was rented to start a new life, through the concept of Casa NUMAÀ.
Driven by history, the creators of NUMAÀ have brought this building back to life after 20 years of restoration, ennobled with contemporary art, in partnership with the Cluj-Napoca Art Museum.

This place is now a mix of history, business, art and gastronomy, ideal to start the day with a coffee, for business meetings and dinners with family or friends, right in the city centre.

Casa NUMAÀ brings together the following: Coffee & Focaccia Shop, Business Lounge, Live Multibrand Showroom, Private Art Gallery, Romanian Wine Museum, DeGustare - exclusive wines, Museum of Speleology, EXCLUSIVE - NUMAÀ Business Club.
