Diego Chenna

Diego Chenna studied with Vincenzo Menghini in Turin and furthered his studies in Stuttgart with Sergio Azzolini. After winning first prize at the 'F. Gillet IDRS International Competition' in the USA, he embarked on a brilliant career that led him to play in the world's most prestigious halls and collaborate with artists such as C. Abbado, H. Holliger, V. Gergiev, J. Widmann, A. Lonquich, E. Hobart, Y. Bashmet, G. Kremer.
Bassoon soloist of the Irish Chamber Orchestra and member of the Swiss Chamber Concerts, he has always dedicated himself to rediscovering forgotten works and creating new compositions for his instrument.
He is currently professor of chamber music at the University of Music Freiburg im Breisgau.
